Biblical motifs
When most people begin to read the Bible, chances are that the first time around they will not be able to catch all or any of the patterns and symbols that are displayed. That is probably because individuals typically don’t really care to look for them when they are first introduced to the Bible. However, if close attention is paid, it becomes easy to notice aspects of literature such as persistent subjects that show up more than once. The book of Genesis contains numerous different situations that become motifs because of their recurrence throughout the book and the entire Bible. Although there are many, punishment, feuds among family members, and miraculous childbirths are specifically highlighted. First of all, the topic of judgment stands out from others because it is the primary circumstance in the Bible to be repeated. Adam and Eve are the first people to be condemned because of their disobedience. God had given them life in paradise under one single restriction: they are not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (2:16).
