The Beach
As the warm rush of salty water sweeps over my skin, I feel as though I am being pulled into an endless journey. I do not know where I may be lead to, so I bury my feet into the loose sand to avoid being swept away. This powerful force is the ocean. I stand where the ocean and sand come together in amazement. I wonder what will happen if I let myself go and allow the ocean's waves to guide my path. Would I be placed safely to lie securely on the sand, or would I begin an inconclusive journey across the water? As I face this flowing body of blues, greens, yellows, and purples, these are the thoughts that cross my mind. When I arrive at the beach and take my first footstep on the sand, I feel the loose grains form around my feet and in between my toes. This feeling is always a mixture of pleasure and awkwardness until I once again get accustomed to this unique sensation. As I get further into the wet sand, my feet fall deeper and deeper into the ground. I reach down to let the sand and water fill my hands, but they slip away as though they are being beckoned to come back and join the larger body of water.
