What do you think of when I mention President Bush? Well, in every issue of the Daily Camera there is a political cartoon in the first section that sometimes is about Bush and his presidency, like it was a few days ago. In this particular cartoon, it is trying to portray President Bush and the economy of today’s society by putting Bush on a treadmill, running hard, but not going anywhere. It looks like the drawing takes place in the oval office of the White House. Bush (the only character in the cartoon) is running on a treadmill sweating pretty profusely looking dumbfounded. He also looks extremely skinny, almost to the point of anorexia. On the treadmill reads “Economic Plan”, which is referring to Bush’s plan to rebound our slumping economy. While Bush is taking his run, he is exclaiming, “Going anywhere? No, but I’m in very good shape.” One cannot help but get the notion that the cartoonist thinks that Bush’s economic plan is not helping out this country's economic problems of today‘s society.
