My Dream
It was an excruciatingly hot day in August in the year of 2000. I was at the Sara Lee soccer fields for soccer tryouts for North Forsyth High School. The sweat was dripping off of my face as the coach made his final cuts. “I made it! I made the team!” I thought to myself as my friends and I congratulated each other. On the way home that evening I was in awe that I, Brandon Sparks, made the varsity soccer team at North Forsyth. This really made me think about if I had success on this team, who knows what could happen later in life. I started thinking about how it was my dream to play soccer someday for a college. If I ever wanted this dream to come true I would have to study hard and make good grades in my classes, condition myself to get into better shape, and most importantly continue to work on my soccer skills year-round. A person’s grades in school are, without a doubt, one of the key factors in the outcome of that particular person’s future. A person’s grades can determine what college he or she gets accepted to after high school.
