Should the U.S. go to War
The United States of America was created through warfare. Since then, the U.S. has tried to stay non-militaristic. George Washington once said that a new nation should not entangle itself in alliances, because they could result in wars. In spite of this, as our nation developed, we found ourselves in WWI, WWII, The Cold War, The Vietnam War, and the Gulf War. As technology advances, the number of casualties has been brought down, but war is still a waste of lives. Others say that history has taught us that war is inevitable because there will always be something to fight about. The U.S. went to war with Iraq in the 1990’s, because it was trying to take over Iran. The war was a pretty successful for us, and it only lasted a few months. Today, after the incidents of September 11, the U.S. faces a new threat, terrorism. A year later, our news is filled with stories of Iraq’s chemical and nuclear weapon arsenal; therefore, Iraq has once again become a target for the U.S. The U.S. has been trying to stop Saddam’s evil regime, but now it must take the appropriate acti
