Good Vs Evil
William Golding’s novel, Lord of the Flies, is a story about a group of good English boys, who’s plane is shot down, and plummets onto a deserted island, trying to flee from war. After landing on the island, they try to organize a structure to the new society they are forced to live in. They elect Ralph as leader, and come up with a plan to be rescued, which includes setting up a signal fire. Little did the boys know that despite their efforts to remain civilized, the inner savage in each of them would comes out. What comes of the plot is the basic good vs. evil story, and an excellent novel.The main theme of good vs. evil allows for people to relate to the story. The theme comes out through the characters and their actions, but mostly with the two main characters Ralph and Jack. I believe that every person has a little of both characters in themselves, and that’s what makes the story so appealing. Ralph is a protagonist, and the most appealing character in the story.
