The study of the featured article is to determine the past epidemiology of TB infection, and the time frame for changes in molecular fingerprints. Considering that the Presence of the TB in the burials in Vac Hungary pre date the mass expansion of the disease in the 18th and 19th centuries it is possible to examine the disease before it developed into the cause of 25% of deaths in Europe between the 17th and 19th centuries. ... This presence of soft tissue and bone made the testing of MTB DNA more controlled from the lack of contaminates. ... The laboratories used for the testing had never tested any type of MTB cultures or Tuberculosis. ... All items and places used in testing were sanitized as well as separate from multiple tests at one time.
