Katharine, Lili, and Kat . ...
Katharine is the original shrew. Her appearance in The Taming of the Shrew is what started this essay in the first place. From here on I shall refrain from calling her Katharine(mainly to save typing the extra five letters), and use what she is often called in the play, plain Kate. ... He in hopes of finding a husband to take care of his Kate problem he decrees no man will be allowed to court his other fair daughter, Bianca, until a husband for Kate is found.
Now Kat, from the movie 10 Things I Hate About You, is a mirror image of Kate on this front.
