Proffesor Swanson English Short Stories September 11 2003 Short Paper# 1 The Necklace My initial reaction to the story was humor. I thought it was funny that Mathilde worked so hard to be some one she wasnt for one night , just to find out the necklace she thought was so wonderful was fake . ... What stood out to me that was truly pathetic was during her ten years of financial hardship[ she was still able to look back to one night that she thought was so wonderful because she was wearing what she thought was a real diamond necklace and everyone was paying attention to her. |
