The Houses Of Parliament · After entering the palace of Westminster and the Houses of Parliament themselves, you find yourself in Westminster Hall, which is the oldest building of Parliament. The area is now used mainly for ceremonial use, such as weddings for MP’s and for royal use (for example the lying in state of the Queen Mother). · After passing through the robbing room (where the monarch is robed in preparation for the state opening of Parliament), parties are lead into the Princes room, and then follow the queen’s procession path into the House of Lords.
