Brandt, being a part of the Berlin resistance during Hitler’s rule, made this time and crisis personal to him. ... Bornstein labeled the Berlin Wall as a “symbol of the Cold War.” The tumbling effects in which caused the wall to come down started when the Soviet Union found itself in an economic and political crisis. ... On November 9, 1989, the first cracks were planted in the wall.
Bornstein goes on to relay the events and emotions that took place by the people and the government in Germany.
