History of Mardi Gras
I think Mardi gras is one of the most interesting holiday because of its history and of the facts about it. “In French Mardi Gras means ‘Fat Tuesday’ and is celebrated the day before Ash Wednesday, as a last ‘fling’ prior to the forty day Lent. ... The meaning of having Mardi Gras is to party and stuff before forty day Lent were you give up something like eating meats or drinking alcohol. Mardi Gras comes from the Christian religion. ... It was noted, “Mardi gras was celebrated in the Christian countries of Europe long before the founding of the Cresent City” (Fat Tuesday).
