American Cinema
Film studies is a survey of the american film industry as an art form,as an industy, and as a system of representation and communication. The cinema explores how hollywood films work technically, aesthetically, and culturally to reinforce and challenge Americas national self image. The content of the cinema is organized into four broad sections: the first: ecomnomic foundations of the american film industry, part two: hollywood genres; part three: recent trends in hollywood films, part four: supplementary unitys on thinking and writing about film.
