Reciving unsuccessful help from their government they seeked to find answers within themselves by forming Labor Unions.Within these unions the workers led organized protests and strikes to demand better working conditions and pay. Some were successful and some werent but it led to the organizations of many many more unions to come! ... Many people "believed it was a disgrace to accept public assistance," but the Great Depressions and its affects on peoples lives made them forget about pride and take any offer they could get, labor unions were there best bet.
