Peer Pressure

Sotogrande International School’s Year 11 students performed a play called “Peer pressure” on November 19th 2002. ... It consisted of a number of scenes all about peer pressure. We saw examples of peer pressure to smoke, drink alcohol, have sex, take drugs such as ecstasy tablets, deal with family arguments either the teenagers with the parents or the parents only, and pressure of no to study in class. ... There was another scene where pressure was not to study. ... One girl boasted that she had had sex in the weekend and that might of led to a pressure where the boyfriend pressurises the girlfriend to have sex. ... Of course, there were examples of positive pressure like “friends respect you for telling the truth” and “be yourself, you are good as you are”. ... Positive peer pressure is important too.
