... Hence, it is obvious and quite a sobering observation that without an open economy, the United States is no more a super power than a local police force. With these things said, it is apparent that I find an open economy to be a necessity but indeed not a preference. ... I abhor hypocrisy to the fullest, hence, the reason that I am penning this missive in favor of open economy, I do not believe that it would ever cease to exist. ... In summation, I do personally favor an American based economy with ninety percent of our goods at least produced within the boundaries of our country.
