Kenneth Branagh’s Hamlet
This is an action packed version of the old play by Shakespeare yet it is true in following the dialogue and the sequence of the original, Kenneth Branagh makes this movie excellent even for a Shakespeare novice.
Kenneth Branagh’s version of Hamlet opens with a vast hall in the French Blenheim Palace, although this establishment is rather unusual in a Shakespeare play it works surprisingly well and its open rooms and fanciful décor work to emphasize certain emotional scenes such as Hamlet’s “to be or not to be” soliloquy where Hamlet unknowingly makes the speech in front of a two way mirror with Claudius and Polonius watching on the other side.
