My First Essay

This statement is written with the sincere wish that the admissions committee considers my application for the enrollment to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. After fully considering my options for my chosen career direction and growth, I feel that my decision to “choose” UW-Eau Claire is a perfect match and I fervently hope UW-Eau Claire feels the same by “choosing” me. I have spent my freshman year at St Cloud State University, maintaining a 3.06 GPA and am currently attending fall semester at Century Community College to continue working on my general education and prerequisite courses. This is all directed at the goal of entering the nursing field. I have investigated the programs, visited the UW-Eau Claire campus, and found that the accreditation of the prestigious nursing program and excellent history would situate squarely on the career goals of my nursing timeline. In addition to the educational challenges, the peripheral options the school offers would blend with the physical ones as well. As an ardent sports/health enthusiast, (I am a graduate of Larkin Dance Studio), your offerings of intramural softball, soccer, and basketball have been welcome and hopefully utilized options. I feel that being immersed in student activities is an absolute must in order to maintain balance. I hope to one day be a graduate of the UW-Eau Claire with a degree from your respected and admired nursing program and would be honored to be accepted.
