The modern day Japanese attitude toward authority can be traced back to feudal times. The Japanese are very respective toward authority, and this causes them to be very submissive with very few disturbances. ... These ideas are especially evident in Japanese police, prison, work place, and schools.
As was in Europe, the Ancient Japanese developed a feudal system. ... This form of government demanded that the citizens under it had to have the utmost respect for authority, which continues in the country today. ... All the people in Japan have the greatest respect for the police, and will go along with anything they are asked to do, even after being arrested. ... In schools, teachers, as authority figures, are highly respected by their students. ...
