duke of edinburgh!!
This piece of original writing came from my experience as a participant of the Duke of Edinburgh's award. The piece is to persuade people to take part in the award- a challenging and exciting experience. My audience is people aged between 14 and 25, who enjoy walking and taking part in-group activities, as well as having to fend for themselves. My piece relates to my audience well as the award is targeted at 14 to 25 year olds. The format I chose for my piece on the award is a leaflet as I felt it would be unsuitable for a newspaper article or a book as my piece is too lengthy for a newspaper article and too brief for a book. I decided upon the structure, first of all to briefly introduce the award, as there would be those with no previous knowledge. The different sections were then explained in more detail. I started with the aim, went through the constituent parts and finished with my reasons for enjoying the award.
