Transition from Cub to King
In the Disney movie The Lion King, the use of platonic ideal, the battle between good and evil, and light and dark images show Simba’s transition from naïve lion cub to mighty king. Simba has a wonderful life until the tragic and sudden death of King Mufasa, his father, and is forced out of the kingdom by his evil uncle Scar. He lives a carefree, simple life until he is reunited with his platonic ideal, Nala, who convinces him to return to Pride Rock and take his rightful position as king. After the inevitable battle between good and evil, Simba takes the throne from Scar and serves as king until the end of his life. ... When Simba was a cub and wanted to go explore places, like the elephant graveyard, Nala was always right beside him with support.
