Before watching the documentary, Angkor Wat was just another cultural temple of some old god lying somewhere in Asia. ... Angkor Wat is an old Hindu temple dedicated to both major and minor Indian gods, to the likes of Siva and Vishnu. ... The scholars interpreted this as a mere folktale, until they discovered the lost city of Angkor in the wilderness of Cambodia. At first, they refused to believe that Cambodians were the ones who really created Angkor Wat, they believed that some other race built it when they conquered Cambodia. This was immediately proved wrong by the Sanskrit carvings on the walls of Angkor Wat, telling of its past.
