The legislative body might have feared that if there were American bases in the Philippines, many consequences are possible: (1) These bases can be one of the targets of US’s communists rivals such as Iraq and North Korea if the latter two were to stage a protracted attack against the superpower, (2) the communists might summon their nuclear weapons to annihilate these bases so the first to suffer the casualties will fall under the Philippine territory, and (3) Muslim-related countries believe in the principle that any ally of the United States are their enemies as well. ...
