The Navajo people have lived in their homeland for thousands of years. The land is poor by present civilizations standards but to the Navajo it is a land full of riches. Many of these people live today like their ancestors before them with a few sheep and a garden plot on red dirt that only a Navajo could make anything grow in. The Navajo people produce everything they need.
The Navajo people, unlike so many other Indians, have been allowed to remain in their ancestral homeland. A great part of being Navajo is the land they live on.
