So it would appear that the FBI still has an interest in the Black community and it's perpetual struggle for equality, but to assess the full impact of COINTELPRO becomes difficult as much of the FBI documents and memos have yet to be declassified by the FOIA. It is abundantly clear however, that these programs generally distorted the public perception of leaders and movements.
