Cigarette Advertising Should Be Prohibited Cigarette advertising has been a highly debated issue in the United States throughout recent history. Should cigarette advertising be banned or not? Cigarette companies are killing their customers. They are marketing to minors as young as six years old. Cigarette companies have disregarded the rules and regulations of advertising and blatantly disobeyed them. Ultimately, cigarette advertising should be prohibited. Cigarette companies are killing their customers and lying to them. Should any company that does this be allowed to advertise at all? In 1942 Brown and Williamson, part of the cigarette hierarchy, claimed that the Kool, Lucky Strike, Camel, and Chesterfield cigarettes had health benefits. The main falsehood and supposed health benefit was that these brands all provided protection against head colds and cleared the head.
