The Doppler Effect John Rogers The Doppler Effect is the change in the frequency of a sound, light, or radio waves caused by the motion of the source of the waves and the observer. Like when an ambulance goes by you and the pitch of the sound changes as it comes toward you then when it goes past you that is the Doppler Effect.
