Analyse the narrator fs approach to gintimacy h in gTalking in Bed h and gIn Bed

In gTalking in Bedh by Philip Larkin, Larkin describes the trials of trying to be intimate with someone, and how even with the people who are closest to you, it is very hard to be intimate. However in, gIn bed with Philip Larkinh by Peter Carpenter it is obvious to the reader that the piece is a parody of Larkinfs poem, it challenges Larkinfs notions of intimacy. In the first sentence of gTalking in Bedh the narrator employs the conditional tense which reinforces the complexity of intimacy, Larkin states that gTalking in bed ought to be easiesth because your bed is your most intimate place, and to share your bed with someone is to be intimate with them, but he also says that glying together there goes back so far,h here he is trying to describe the familiarity of this scene, almost as if the intimacy of sharing his bed with this person has worn off and it feels like a routine.
