Objective I K.C. 14yr's old black male Objective II Text: Astrocytoma: A Nerve-tissue tumor composed of astrocytes Self: Astrocytoma: tumor of the brain composed of astrocytes and characterized by slow growth and cyst formation. Sugery: Resection of brain tumor reducing the size of a tumor, relieving cerebral edema or ICP(intercrainial pressure) relieving symptoms, and preventing further neuological problems.The resection was done in 1993. Relationship to admitting Dx: Because of on going problems associated with astrocytoma such as vomiting and dirrhea, and difficulity swollowing it led to a fluid volume deficit which in turn led to dehydration which was the admitting Dx. Objective III The patient is know to have recurrent astrocytoma. The patient was stable up untill yesterday ( 1-4-95 ). He has started to have diarrhea which has increased in frequency. The mother states that the patient has been eating and drinking well. Never the less th has become progressively lethargic to the extent that he has not been able to walk today ( 1-5-95 ), he was then brought to the hospital and was admitted .
