... Charlie and Marlene There were numerous amount of problems involved the communication process between Charlie and Marlene. First of all, I would the problem was the channels that Charlie tried to communicate with were hostile and brutal nonverbal behavior. Charlie obviously didn’t respect Marlene. In communicating, Charlie used regulators to control the conversation. Because of this behavior Marlene was force into using defensive statements towards Charlie. Another problem that I observe was Charlie’s vocal characteristics that were use to conveyed fear, anger and forcefulness towards Marlene. ... Both Marlene and Charlie was truthful and honesty who there were and why they were there. Marlene discriminating attitude towards Charlie because he was black made the communication process more difficult. Her slang and jargon such as “nigga” and “Negro” were offensive to Charlie and made him defensive.
