Lights--Camera...

Hamlet progresses from inaction to action by using acting, directing, and an actual staged production to commit himself to action. In the beginning of Hamlet, Hamlet is a sulky and sluggish young man. He complains and is upset about his dead father, lustful uncle, and fickle mother, not showing any will power to improve the situation. All the way through the play, Hamlet fights his inability to take action. The play is the median in which Hamlet transforms from a procrastinating complainer to the sword-flinging hero at the end.
