Marijuana has been illegal in New York since 1927 and the United States shortly after passed laws making recreational use of the drug illegal. Many people continue to abuse the drug ignoring the laws and effects. There are many negative effects of smoking marijuana. These effects are especially prevalent during the teenage years, and have a more severe effect on females. Among the more severe short term side effects are depression and eating disorders. While under the influence of marijuana teenage girls are more likely to engage in sexual acts they wouldn’t in a normal state of mind. There are also many long term effects including lower IQ and lung, mouth and throat cancer. Smoking marijuana is not only damaging to your physical health but it also affects users psychologically. This annotated bibliography is intended to evaluate the following sources and their usefulness in researching the negative effects of marijuana on teenage girls. ...
