The theory of liberalism with regards to international relations was largely developed by Kant and was considered to be the dominant theory in international relations up until the introduction to realism. Over the course of the past few decades liberalism has gained some of its acceptance back amongst various international theorists and has beem reformed to fit contemporary times and is now widely known as neo-liberalism.
