What is academic writing? According to Karen Gocsik from Dartmouth College, New Hampshire, there are three concepts that you need to understand about academic writing. First, academic writing is writing done by scholars for other scholars which requires thinking, arguing, and writing in certain ways. Second, academic writing is devoted to topics and questions that are relevant and appropriate.
