Salvador Dali was born on the 11th of May 1904 in the Spanish town of Figueras, in the province of Catalunya. Dali’s talent was recognised from a young age, and was encouraged greatly by his family. ... Salvador’s passion for art and need to live life his way, couldn’t be met with the confines of school, so he left to pursue his own career in art without the education that schooling offered. Salvador is famous for his many paintings, such as “The persistence of memory” and “Sleep” along with many more, also sculptures and drawings. Dali’s artwork, “Lobster telephone”, is a surrealist sculpture. The main subject matter of this piece is still life, and like many others of Dali’s great artworks, it portrays fantasy. ...
