In this experiment we started out by cutting apart a aluminum can and sanding off all the paint and wax from it. When the paint had been cleaned off well enough we then weighed it to the amount of 1.000 grams. After this we cut it into to small strips and placed them in a 250ml beaker. We then added 50ml of potassium hydroxide to the beaker with the aluminum strips in it.
