What makes another company better than another to work for? WHAT IS MOTIVATION? Motivation is to inspire people to work, individually or in-groups such as to produce the best of results. It is the will to act by exerting high level of efforts towards achieving organisational goals, conditioned by smart and efficient working and the ability to satisfy some individual needs. Motivation is, getting somebody to do something because they want to do it. Motivation is a powerful tool in the hands of leaders. It can persuade, and convince people to act. Every business owner is faced with different challenges to keep their business profitable in this competitive market place so it is very important for the success of your business that you train and motivating your staff. Many organisations motivate their employees in many different ways, as they believe that employees are the main assets of their business. There are many different methods of motivating employees, I found from my questionnaires that employers motivate employees in the following ways- „h Through Pay „h Through staff bonuses „h Through extra Holiday Schemes „h Through the Company¡¦s Culture „h Through Uniforms/ Clothing „h By setting goals ands objectives for staff to meet „h By giving rewards such as, bonuses, incentives, company car etc „h Through performance management.
