Noah and the flood
The Flood Account story in the Bible shows the relationship between God and his people of Israel. ... The Story of the Flood The story of the flood in the bible is like that of many other stories in the bible, that it stands as a teaching element for the reader. Noah is held above other people in this story to make him an example to help in the teaching of God’s word. The flood account is seen throughout many other cultures in the Ancient East, most of the stories closely resembling that of the bible. These many other renditions by other cultures of the flood account follow generally the same pattern as that of the bible in storytelling. Like all other stories of importance in the bible the flood account is a teaching story. ... Noah stands as the main character throughout the flood account. ... Noah is the man that the people can look up to by being able to do God’s bidding on an unbelievable task that is set before him. ... “Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God” (Genesis 6:9). ... The flood in the stories is believed to been started because the people angered the gods, and this was their punishment. Noah The man and the family that the story is based around, Noah, is the connection to God for the entire planet of living creatures. ... Noah is an example of what the people of God are supposed to live like, he is held to a higher standard than the normal person would be to make him seem almost god like (Boat 127). ... This man, Noah, that God has picked is just like any other man that he possibly could have picked. What makes Noah stand out in the story is his devotion to God is unbreakable. Noah and his family are the world’s last hope for a future; they are the ones that God will in trust the entire world of living things to (Bailey 207).
