Women in developing countries
Women in developing countries are faced with many problems which they have to deal with in order to survive, These issues include financial struggles, employment and educational opportunities, major time pressures, lack of accessibility to vital resources and of course the major inequalities that they are faced with every day. ... Colonisation exacerbated existing discrimination against women, particularly in rural ares in developing countries. Apartheid also played a significant role in the situation faced by women in SA. In Africa, before the influence of western society on the existing way of life women mainly lived in patriarchial societies with patrilineal descent.
