Letters of Significance
Letters are something that are not only a way of correspondence, but also a means of letting people know what actually is going on in the life of the writer. Two letters that are of significance are Letter from a Birmingham Jail by MLK, and Letter from an Athenian Jail by Socrates. ... Their similarities and differences in their lives and reasons for imprisonment make these two letters significant not only in their lifetimes but also for generations after their deaths. ... Both letters present a strong argument. ... Their arguments have stood the test of time as letters that present grievances with a government they both agreed with but thought that some things needed to be changed. Governments and ideas have changed since both of these letters were written but one thing has not, the idea that if someone has an opinion about something, it should be voiced and should be heard by the masses.
