Francisco Franco
|

Known to most simply as El Caudillo (The Leader), Francisco Franco was one of the most influential characters in the history of Spain. From officer, to general, to dictator, Franco would never back down to anyone. In fact, Franco would remain in office until his death in 1975.
He was born Francisco Franco Bahamonde in El Ferrol del Caudillo, in the province of La Coruna. The son of a naval officer, Franco was destined for military duty.
