The growth of prostate cells and the way the prostate gland works depends on the male sex hormone, testosterone, this is produced in the testicles. The rectum is close to the rear part of the prostate gland.
Prostate Cancer usually affects men over the age of fifty years. Its different from other cancers, because small areas of cancer within the prostate are very common and may remain unchanged for some time before they begin to grow.
