I would define development as the progression from a primitive state containing independent resources evolving to a synergy of resources working together to the achieve the advancement of the country as a whole. There is clearly a long list of significant and unique features that one must keep in mind when analyzing the development if Latin American countries. The most important factors to consider in Latin America’s development include the volatile political climate that has led to a great deal of changes in economic policy, the vast inequality between the rich and poor, and the lack of industrialization and its imbalance of trade policy. The political climate of Latin America has historically been anything but stable with a long legacy of different regimes that exercised severe repression over its people and also changing economic policy with each violent overthrow.
