Two Models of the Criminal Process The common assumptions that both the Crime Control Model as well as the Due Process Model share is the fact that they need one another in order to reach justice. The Due Process Model relies on the Crime Control Model because it needs the facts that the Crime Control Model discovers. There would be no Crime Control Model without a Due Process Model, and visa versa. Crime Control makes arrests and keeps the criminals off the streets, but without the insurance of Due Process which protects the citizen’s rights, there would be no justice.
