Abandoned Farmhouse
In "Abandobned Farmhouse" Ted Kooser uses a farmhouse as a metaphor of a person who has tried to make himself wat everone wants him to be. In the end, this person leaves this illusion he has created. The symbolism of this poem portrays the illusion this person had created. Kooser uses phrases like "he was a God-fearing man, says the Bible with a broken back" to create teh illusion.
