... Because of this, I chose a fictional book by Upton Sinclair. Upton Sinclair was born in the late 1800s and through his writings portrayed not only his social political views and provides a fine example of muckraking litature, but through his writings in “The Jungle” he provides a dramatic example of what life during America’s industrial era must have been like for the working class.
