Intertextuality

Intertextuality: The interdependence of texts Any one text depends on all those that have come before it for both its writing and its reading. Texts share many things in common such as the language they were written in and the rules that govern the language. They also share the rules of the genre they were written in, as well as formal features-chapters, pages and titles. If each text we read was all new to us we would be shocked and disorientated be every one.
