My Full Day
Parental acceptance is very important to women. Not to say it’s not important to men as well, but it doesn’t seem to affect a man like it does a woman. It’s natural for people to want to be accepted by others, but especially by their parents. Parents are who you want to be proud of you. I know I would rather be accepted and respected by my parents over anyone else. In “Only Daughter” I can understand why she tries so hard to please her dad and change his opinions about what women should be. My situation is a little different in the way that my dad has 3 daughters so I am always trying to outshine them in every possible situation. It’s natural to want to make your parents proud. The biggest reason I’m going to go to law school and become an attorney is to make him proud of me. My Dad is a very successful real estate broker and I look up to him so much.
