Through my research of this topic, I gained the information of what Formalist Criticism really means. When using Formalist Criticism in a piece of writing, it is the author that makes the meaning not the reader, and the meaning of the work never changes. Formalist Criticism is supposedly unique among critical methods in being completely “intrinsic”, dealing only with aesthetic techniques evident within the work.
