Johann Sebastian Bach
Johann Sebastian Bach was born in Eisenach Germany on March 21, 1685 to Johann Ambrosius who was court trumpeter for the Duke of Eisenach and director of the musicians of the town. Bach and his father came from a family of musicians and had over 53 musicians in their family over a period of 300 years. His father taught him everything he knew about music like the basic skills for string playing, he also taught him the basic skills of the organ before he died in 1695 when Bach was only 10 years old.
After Bach’s father died, Bach went to live with his older brother, Johann Christoph, who was a professional organist at Ohrdruf. ... After several years living and learning with his brother, Bach won a scholarship to study in Luneberg, Northern Germany.
